I never truly understood the value of money until now. People say that when you start working you will than appreciate how hard it is to earn money. Hmm... Not really. I find that i was still wasteful. I throw things or food out on a whim cos, hey, i can just go and get a new one.
Its funny how as we age money takes on different meaning.
When i was 17 years old if i have $400 i would think, "Oh my gawd! I have so much money to buy cigarettes!! I can smoke 5 big packs a day. YAY!!!! Happy, happy, joy, joy, happy, happy, joy, joy...(sings)
At 21, "Oh Thank God, more than enough money to splurge on make up. Off to Watson!!!'
Now, 'Alhamdulillah, that settles my babies 1 month milk supply.' Everything is measured by the kids needs now. '$60' for a top??? I can buy one can of baby's milk plus one L Huggies diaper.'
Everytime we go out shopping i come back and realise that i bought one top and the rest of the money are spent on the boys cos 'this is just toooooo cute not to buy.'
They are so precious, they deserve everything. Being a parent teaches me more about life than anything else. Its so true what they say, ' You see the world through your child's eyes.'
